Franz Jevne State Park
Perched along the Canadian border, little Franz Jevne State Park offers a picture-window view of Ontario across the Rainy River. Fishing and canoeing attract most visitors to the park, and you can hike for 2.5 miles along the river. Franz Jevne has 18 drive-in and three walk-in campsites interspersed among the trees that cloak the riverbank. It’s Minnesota’s least developed state park, there’s no office and the camping is done by self-registration. However, it is peaceful here.
Franz Jevne State Park is located two miles northeast of Birchdale in Minnesota’s Koochiching County, along the Waters of the Dancing Sky Scenic Byway.
