Location name:
Mesabi Trail

Name: Sandra Scoles

From: Pierz, MN

Occupation: Former detailer at Larson Boats in Little Falls, now retired.

Seen: Biking the Mesabi Trail near Grand Rapids with friends.

Gear: Cannondale Synapse carbon road bike and Garmin GPS.

Favorite Minnesota Trail? My favorite place to ride is the Soo Line Trail between Bowlus and Albany because of the trees, the wildflowers and the animals like sand hill cranes and otters.

Worst Experience? One time I tried to zip my handlebar bag while I was riding and I took a tumble in the ditch.

How many miles do you bike in a year? About 1500.

Favorite Minnesota place? Up North, because of the pine trees.

Trail Treat: After a ride I like to stop at Subway and get a BLT.

Advice for someone getting into biking Go get a good bike and just do it. When you get old, I highly recommend biking to stay in shape.

Future Plans: Ride the Central Lakes Trail from Alexandria to Fergus Falls.
