In a few years, the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area will be the most talked about recreation area in the state.
The variety of trail and water activities will also make it one of the most sought out, according to Courtland Nelson, Minnesota State Parks Director. "Right now, it is a blank page for us to do some very creative things," said Nelson at the opening of the new Cuyuna Lakes State Trail last fall.
Cindy Wheeler, DNR Parks and Recreation staff member working on a recreation plan for the recreation area, agrees.
