Christina Johnson Koshiol is excited about the possibilities. “It’s like having a little piece of the Boundary Waters in central Minnesota,” she says of the proposed Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park. “It has a mix of everything that would make it suitable for so many purposes.” 
  Cuyuna Lakes Trail Association By Linda Picone   It’s an exciting time to be part of the Cuyuna Lakes Trail Association—and to use the Cuyuna Lakes State Trail in central Minnesota, near Crosby.
  By Linda Picone   Scandia, 25 miles northeast of St. Paul, is a relatively new city—incorporated in January 2007—with an even newer Friends organization. Friends of Scandia Parks and Trails elected its fi rst board of directors just this past January. 
More than 400,000 people visit Fort Snelling State Park every year. For residents of the Twin Cities metropolitan area, it’s a quick trip to nearly 3,000 acres with an abundance of natural areas and wildlife ranging from deer to eagles.
  The Whitewater Country Loop Trail
The Minnesota Orienteering Club Minnesota’s parks and trails provide countless opportunities for recreating and exploring. The Minnesota Orienteering Club has combined the two activities in ways that makes the outdoors fun for people of all backgrounds and skill levels. We recently asked Verónica Jaralambides to tell us more about her club and orienteering.
