The many communities that make up the metropolitan area of Minneapolis and St. Paul provide an extensive network of well-groomed cross-country ski trails. Many regional parks make snow and offer skiing whether it actually snows or not. Twin City area ski clubs meet regularly for fun, training, and competition.

Afton  Afton State Park

651-436-5391 (WH, P, B) A variety of groomed, classic loops, featuring 2 miles of easy trails and13 miles of trails rated intermediate to advanced Trails overlook the St.Croix River near Afton Alps Ski Resort and have trail shelters. Heated Visitors center has parking and bathrooms.
The park also has snowshoe trails and holds an annual candlelight ski. MN ski pass required.

Bloomington  Hyland Lake Park Reserve

Coon Rapids  Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park

Morgan Lane offers beautiful view of a pond from a birch-lined ridge.

Maple Grove Elm Creek Park Reserve

Maple Lake  Robert Ney Regional Park

Minneapolis  City of Lakes Loppet Trail
