Progress on Frazee’s portion of the Heartland Trail is at a standstill, according to Frazee City Clerk Jon Smith.
Smith informed the Frazee Planning Commission during its monthly meeting (Tuesday, Dec. 1) that the location of the Heartland Trail cannot be finalized until the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) decides where it will locate its portion of the trail.
Smith added he hopes the DNR will make a decision by January.
In addition to finalizing the trail’s route, Smith added the city also has a land acquisition to complete, which won’t be finalized until the route is decided.
