Two bridges on the Gateway State Trail in Maplewood will be closed for about two weeks in early October to allow for reconstruction.
Re-decking of the bridge across White Bear Avenue began Oct. 5 and is expected to be finished within six days or fewer. Re-decking of the bridge across McKnight Road will immediately follow the White Bear Avenue bridge work, and will be completed no later than Oct. 19.
Both bridges will be closed during construction. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources urges visitors to exercise caution in finding alternative ways to cross these two busy streets during the course of the work.
