Best Kept Secrets: Sibley

Hike or Ski to Mount Tom

Of the many great features of Sibley State Park, the best is the 15-mile panoramic, breathtaking view of Mount Tom.  Mount Tom Scenic Overlook can be reached by hike/ski  or by a brief drive in the non-winter months.

Eighteen miles of hiking trails, eight miles of cross-country ski trails, and two miles of skate trails are also a great way to spend an afternoon at Sibley. The trails begin from the Interpretive Center/Trail Center, which is available to the public 24 hours a day with heat, light, restrooms and tables to accomodate visitors.

While visiting Mt. Tom, make a reservation to stay the night. New to Sibley in 2009 are four camper cabins. They are available year around, are equipped with heat, and sleep  5+ people; one of them is handicap accessible.

Come and see for yourself the best kept secrets of Sibley State Park.
