The sunsets, white sand beach and the emotions of the lake are but a few of the wonders to behold at Zippel Bay State Park. Two of the biggest draws to the park are fishing and its 2 1/2 miles of beach. “It’s all about the walleye in the summer,” says Assistant Park Manager Susan Olin. A nice marina on Zippel Bay and a stone jetty provides protected access to Lake of the Woods.
The beach is a definite favorite for swimming, watching magical sunsets across the vast waters or catching sight of the many shore birds.
