Tap into a sweet springtime tradition by taking part in a maple syruping workshop at Wild River State Park. All ages are invited to take part in one of the five workshops scheduled for March 9, 10, 17, 23, and 24.  Each workshop will begin at 11 am at the Visitor Center and conclude at 2 pm.  Space is limited in each workshop so call now to register.
An evening snowshoeing and skiing in the moonlight will be held at Itasca State Park on Saturday, February 23, 2013, for our annual Lantern Lit Snowshoe and Cross-Country Ski event.

Late in February our group put our cross country skis on at the bridge over the Manitou River. We had driven up Lake County Rd 7, beyond George H Crosby Manitou State Park. At first the river was pancake flat, meandering thru willow thickets.

Due to ice and poor snow conditions, the Lantern Lit event scheduled at Itasca State Park on Saturday, January 19, 2013, will be a lantern lit hike. Despite the recent rain, the ski trails have held up quite well. With the recent new snowfall from yesterday, both Bearskin and Golden Eagle have been able to get out on the trails with snowmobiles and pack it in.
